iPhone 15 display and USB-C port revealed

Leaked images purportedly showing the display of the iPhone 15's entry-level model have surfaced online, and they feature a cutout for the Dynamic Island and a USB-C port.

Twitter leaker @URedditor, aka Unknownz21, is at it again, just days after posting a photo of the iPhone 15 Pro's USB-C port. Here they've demonstrated how the iPhone 15's basic design is comparable to the iPhone 14's, with a few key differences.

The new pill-and-hole cutout for the selfie camera seen in the alleged render will be present on all iPhone 15 models.

The software that surrounds this opening is what Apple calls the "Dynamic Island," and it shows what the company calls "Live Activities."

If the photos are to be believed, they also confirm that the most basic version of the iPhone 15 will ship with a USB-C port. As of 2024, new EU regulations will demand a more universal port on devices like the iPhone, thus this shift is likely.

Also, 9to5Mac published exclusive CAD-based renders of the iPhone 15 Pro last week, and now they've obtained 3D CAD files for the iPhone 15, which show off some of the design modifications and new features Apple has in store for its next-generation smartphone. The following stunning photos were rendered by Ian Zelbo, Renderer Extraordinaire.

Although it appears that not much else is known, Unknownz21 was the first to share the photographs with MacRumors. The iPhone 15 will reportedly feature the same A16 CPU, Wi-Fi 6, and Qualcomm X70 modem as the iPhone 14, and have a similar design.

The source has already posted a photo showing the USB-C port on the iPhone 15 Pro. Short but true: Unknownz21 was the first to distribute the "Gobi" augmented reality codes that would eventually evolve into iOS 14's App Clips.

In September of 2023, Apple is predicted to introduce the iPhone 15 series. The curved titanium chassis is expected to replace the stainless steel one in the premium iPhone 15 Pro variants.
